    • PURPOSE: A multiple antenna for a single carrier frequency division multiple access system is provided to improve system performance of a single carrier frequency division multiplexing access system by implementing efficient spatial multiplexing. CONSTITUTION: In a multiple antenna for a single carrier frequency division multiple access system, layer mappers(140,141) map a modulation symbol included in a coding word to at least layer. Layer shifters(150,151) divide the modulation symbol mapped in each layer in a plurality of time domain streams equally. Signal transmission parts(160,161) produce a single carrier frequency multiplex connection signal based on the plural time domain streams. A signal transmission part transmits the single carrier frequency multiplex connection signal to a receiving device by using a plurality of antennas. The layer shifter changes a order or a phase of the modulation symbol mapped in each layer.

    • A channel estimating method and apparatus in an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) cellular system is provided to improve a channel estimating performance by estimating and eliminating mutual interference in a channel estimating process. An estimation response to a high-density pilot symbol is calculated by extracting a subcarrier of the high-density pilot symbol(501). The calculated estimation response is divided into several sections at a predetermined interval to calculate a division response in each divided section(504). A channel response to the high-density pilot symbol is calculated by using the first division response(505). An estimation response to a low-density pilot symbol is calculated by extracting a subcarrier of the low-density pilot symbol(506,508). A channel response to the low-density pilot symbol is calculated by subtracting an accumulated value of the division response from the estimation response of the low-density pilot symbol(509).
