    • An image browsing method and an apparatus are provided to enable a user to browse an image even without pressing a button during an image browsing process by using a portable digital device, and to stabilize movement of the image while the image is browsed. A sensing unit(310) senses acceleration applied to a portable digital device. If dimensions of the sensed acceleration are more than the first threshold value, a screen manager(340) moves an image in a predetermined display area according to an inclining angle of the portable digital device. If the inclining angle is not wider than the second threshold value, the screen manager increases a moving distance of the image as the inclining angle gets larger.
