    • The invention relates to an integral asymmetric planar membrane for microfiltration made from at least 40 wt. % of a hydrophobic first sulphone polymer and a hydrophilic second polymer with a pore size distribution over the membrane wall, inside the wall of a separation layer and extending therefrom towards the surfaces with an increasing pore size, whereby the second surface has pores with an average diameter of at least 1 mum. The membrane comprises the hydrophilic second polymer in a concentration of 0.1-10 wt. %. The separation layer is located in a region facing the first surface and the pore size has a maximum in the connection to the asymmetrical region in the direction of the second surface. The invention further relates to a method for production of said membrane from a pouring solution comprising the hydrophobic first sulphone polymer and the hydrophilic second polymer in a solvent system, pouring the pouring solution maintained at moulding temperature to give a film on a support which has a temperature above the moulding temperature. The film is passed through a climatic zone and coagulation initiated in a coagulation bath with formation of a membrane structure. The membrane structure is removed from the support at a speed exceeding the speed of the support, with stabilisation, extraction and final drying of the membrane.
