SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the cathode assembly including the electron field emitter is provided by forming an electron field emitter by using the paste which contains carbon nanotubes as a solid content and can perform screen printing, wherein the carbon nanotubes in the paste used for forming the electron field emitter is less than 9 wt.% to total weight of the solid content. Or, the method may include processes of: making the electron field emitter in contact with a material; removing a part of the electron field emitter by peeling off the material or realigning the electron field emitter; and forming a new surface of the electron field emitter. With this, through coating of a stabilizing matter 51 for stabilizing an electron emission structure ad protecting an emission end on the surface of a CNT emitter 50 of the field emission element or on the surface of the CNT50a as its main component, and especially at the emission end of the same, overcurrent or abrasion of the CNT50a generated during electron emission is restrained. Therefore, life of the CNT50a is elongated through restraint of such abrasion.
