    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the slide distance of an operation member for switching a switch for turning on of a power supply from the off-state by the operation of the operation member and to make a slidable stroke of the operation member longer and wider while maintaining the on-state of the switch.
      SOLUTION: The switch 21 for an electric tool is composed of the operation member 4, which is inserted to a hole part 3 formed to a housing 2 in a slidable state, a pressing member 23, which is arranged to the recessed part formed to the operation member, a movable contact piece 25, with which a pressing face of the pressing member is brought into contact and which is pressed by the pressing face, a support member 13, which supports the movable contact piece in a rotatable state, and a fixed terminal. A higher order pressing part, which is brought into contact with the movable contact piece and presses it, is formed to the tip side in the advancing direction of the operation member. A lower order pressing part, which is brought into contact with the movable contact piece and maintains the pressing, is formed to the rear end side. Thus, the interval for switching the switch from the off-state to the on-state is shortened. The slidable distance of the operation member is made longer while the switch maintains the on-state.

In this case, the changeover contact point 3 is provided with a contact 3b that is bent in a clip shape where the second arm 4c is brought into a sliding contact, the contact 3b is formed to be in parallel with the inner bottom surface of the storing part 1a and a guiding piece 3d to guide the sliding contact of the second arm 4c by projecting above the contact 3b is provided.
