    • PURPOSE:To realize a unit region scanning on the surface of glove in a conical shape at a predetermined fixed (or variable) incident angle by setting the beam direction of a fixed (or variable) beam type one-dimensional phased array antenna in the predetermined direction through a phase control circuit. CONSTITUTION:Microwave noise radiated from an object on the surface of the globe is detected by an array of (m) radiation elements in the receiving antenna, i,e., a fixed (or variable) beam type one-dimensional phased array antenna 1, of a microwave radiometer mounted on a satellite. The amount of phase is preset at a predetermined value for each fixed phase shifter 2a to 2m in a phase control circuit 2 so that the beam from the antenna 1 impinges on the surface of the globe at a predetermined incident angle. The antenna 1 is rotated at a predetermined speed by means of motor 7 under control of a drive controller 8. A signal received by the antenna 1 is amplified and detected by a low noise receiver 4 and then it is integrated 5 and A/D-converted through a signal processor 6 before being transmitted onto the globe.

    • PURPOSE:To speedily measure the temperature of a living body by sending a signal received by an antenna part and a reference noise signal alternately to a signal cable through a changeover switch, and detecting the temperature of a measured position from both signals. CONSTITUTION:A Dicke type switch 4, a circulator 6, and a reference noise source 7 are added to an out-body type antenna part 2. Then components on the sides of the antenna part 2 and the main body 1a of a radiometer 1 are connected by a coaxial cable 3, so heat noises generated by the cable 3 become a part of background noises in, what is called, the principle of a lock-in amplifier and cancel each other. Further, both temperature signals are attenuated through the cable 3 by controlling the antenna temperature and reference noise temperature to the same temperature. Therefore, when a measurement is taken by in-body thermometer, the errors of the cable 3 can be canceled even if the measurement environment is changed, so the accuracy of the measured temperature can be improved. Further, when the in-body temperature is measured, correction data for the in-body temperature need not be calculated every time and the measurement is measured speedily.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the fluctuation of the measured temperature which is obtained in response to the change in measuring environment and to enhance the measuring accuracy of the temperature in a body by forming the signal transmitting conductor of a cable with a superconductive material. CONSTITUTION:At the time of measurement, a coaxial cable 3 is kept in the cooled state wherein the coaxial cable 3 is cooled to the temperature required for obtaining the superconducting phenomenon of a superconductive material. Under this state, the received signal from an antenna part 2 is supplied to a radiometer main body 1 through a central conductor 21 and an outer conductor 23 which are formed of the superconductive material. Thus, attenuation in the cable 3 can be eliminated. Since the resistance values of the conductors 21 and 23 become zero, a thermal noise voltage due to the cable 3 can be also made to be zero. Therefore, even if the change in environment such as the change in temperature in a room occurs when the temperature in the body is measured, the fluctuation in values of attenuation the cable 3 itself, noises and the like can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To stabilize a power value and to enable the practical use of a microwave radiometer of a total power system, by providing a signal generator for calibration and a temperature sensor. CONSTITUTION:A noise calibration system 50 is constructed of a variable attenuator 12, signal generators 13 and 14, an A/D converter 15, a temperature sensor 16, a signal processor 17 and a mixer 18. The generator 13 or 14 is an oscillator which oscillates at an arbitrary frequency within a reception band, and a frequency difference between them is set to be below a response frequency of the converter 15. A calibration signal passing through the attenuator 12 is subjected to frequency conversion in the mixer 18 and further to A/D conversion in the converter 15 and compared with a reference voltage in the processor 17, and a difference between them is fed back as a control voltage for the attenuator 12. The sensor 16 conducts correction of a temperature variation of the reference voltage and the like. By this method, a power value is stabilized and the practical use of a microwave radiometer of a total power system is enabled.

    • PURPOSE:To measure temp. from the change in the intensity of interference light, by a method wherein the voltages induced at both ends of a metal film by the polarized voltage of pyroelectric effect are applied to both side surfaces of a wave guide and the dielectric constant of the wave guide is changed to form phase shift accompanied by the change in a refractive index between passing monochromatic lights. CONSTITUTION:A Ti diffused wave guide 2 is formed on an LiNbO3 substrate 1 and a wave guide 12 parallel to a Y-axis is provided to a surface vertical to an X-axis and metal films 13, 14 are deposited on the wave guide 12 so as to hold the wave guide 12' one of divided wave guides therebetween. The other ends of the meal films respectively cover a polarizing surface 16 vertical to a Z-axis. The metal film on the side of the wave guide 12'' is extended so as to exceed said wave guide 12''. Polarized voltage is generated between the ends surfaces of the substrate 1 in the Z-axis direction by pyroelectric effect accompanied by the rising in the temp. of the substrate and the electric field proportional to the temp. of the substrate is applied to the wave guide 12 and the change in a refractive index is generated in proportion to an applied electric field by electro-optical effect. Phase difference is generated between the lights passed through the wave guides 12', 12'' and the intensity of output light cyclically changes.
