摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a vertical gyro whose production cost is low and which is small and lightweight. CONSTITUTION: A spherical body 8 is turned integrally with a rotor 7. Its outer circumferential face is constituted of two faces whose light reflectance is different. Light-transmitting and -receiving positions of three photosensors 9a, 9b, 9c are set on three orthogonal axes. The photosensors output detection signals whose contents are respectively different, but the output contents depend on an angle between a rotor face and a base stand 1. A CPU 10 operates the angle of inclination to the horizontal face of the base 1 on the basis of the differential signal between the outputs of the three photosensors 9a, 9b, 9c. When the base 1 becomes horizontal, a correction signal is output to a horizontality device 13, a current is supplied to a coil 11, an eddy current is generated on the outer circumferential face of the spherical body 8 constituted of a conductor, a precession is generated, and the shaft of the rotor 7 is set in a position perpendicular to the base which has become horizontal.

摘要： PURPOSE:To detect angular velocity accurately by rotating a magnet as a rotating body without contact. CONSTITUTION:An inner case 724 is provided inside an outer case 708, while a magnet 3 is provided rotatably inside the inner case 724. When angular velocity occurs, the magnet 3 and the inner case 724 tilt with respect to the outer case 708 by a rotating ring 718 to an angle where precession torque and spring force of magnetic fluid 2 are balanced. Hall elements 41, 42 detect the inclination of the magnet to have the angular velocity calculated.
