This compression operation is repeated several times. When the compressed snow reaches a definite volume, a definite length of snow is pushed out of the volume compartment by the extending actuation of the compression cylinder, thereby cutting the compressed snow in definite size by means of a shut-off and cutting device 7. The cut snow is conveyed to a succeeding carrier by way of a conveyer 8. This construction makes it possible to remove snow with higher efficiency.

The mist including powder and dust which is generated in the hood in association with the washing operation, is collected to the air/liquid separating device 50 and purified by the device 52, and the obtained clean water is sent back to the water tank 16 to be used again as the water for washing.
