According to the method, the solution or the mixture of solids is thermomechanically contacted with a gaseous fluid in the contact area of a reaction chamber, said gaseous fluid being fed into the reaction chamber at the same time as the solution or mixture at a temperature no lower than the decomposition temperature of the nitrates, and having a mechanical energy high enough to generate a fine spray of the solution or a fine dispersion of the solid mixture, and instantly decompose the nitrates. The resulting oxide mixtures may be used to prepare nuclear fuels.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the height of an apparatus, to simplify the apparatus and to treat depleted UF6 . SOLUTION: The treatment apparatus for the dipleted UF6 has a first fluidized bed reaction apparatus 11 which forms UO2 F2 and dilute hydrofluoric acid by acting steam to the dipleted UF6 and a second fluidizied bed reaction apparatus 12 which forms U3 O8 and dilute hydrofluoric acid by further acting the steam to the UO2 F2 . The first and second fluidized bed reaction apparatus are flat plate type fluidized bed reaction apparatus having plural chambers which are respectively formed as multiple stages. The reaction temp. of the first fluidized bed reaction apparatus is 230 to 280 deg.C and the reaction temp. of the second fluidized bed reaction apparatus is 600 to 700 deg.C. The dilute hydrofluoric acid formed by a dry process gaseous phase reaction is separated to hydrofluoric anhydride and dilute sulfuric acid by extraction distillation using concd. sulfuric acid. The dilute sulfuric acid is separated to low hydrofluoric acid water and concd. sulfuric acid by distillation thickening. The concd. sulfuric acid is used as the concd. sulfuric acid of the extraction distillation and the low hydrofluoric acid water is further distilled and is mixed as the hydrofluoric acid of an azeotropic compsn. with the dilute hydrofluoric acid in an extraction distillation stage.
