摘要： A process is provided for the removal of hydrogen sulfide out of a gaseous stream (22), such as a natural gas, by contacting the hydrogen sulfide containing gas with a sorbing liquid (26) containing a tertiary amine so that the hydrogen sulfide is sorbed into the liquid in absorber (11) and transferring the sorbing liquid/hydrogen sulfide mixture to a reactor (15) where the tertiary amine promotes the conversion of the hydrogen sulfide into polysulfide via reaction with sulfur; transferring the polysulfide solution from the reactor (15) to a regenerator (10) where polysulfide is converted into elemental sulfur via reaction with air (9); transferring at least a portion of the solution (25) containing elemental sulfur, as well as sulfate and thiosulfate species, into a mixture (36) where it is contacted with gaseous ammonia which reacts with the sulfate and thiosulfate species to produce ammonium sulfate and ammonium thiosulfate which are removed from the solution while the remaining portion of solution (25) is transferred to a sulfur recovery unit (14). That portion of the solution which has been subjected to ammonium sulfate and ammonium thiosulfate removal is rejoined with that portion of the solution (25) being forwarded to sulfur recovery unit (14). The solution from the sulfur recovery unit (14) is recycled back to the absorber (11).

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new photocatalyst which has high activity and a long life and is nonpoisonous and inexpensive, its production method, and a method for decomposing hydrogen sulfide into hydrogen and sulfur by using it. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst, a layer of zinc sulfide fine particles, has a shell 1 of a layer of zinc sulfide(ZnS) fine particles 5-10 mn in particle size and a cavity 2, and the shell 1 has holes 3. The layer of zinc sulfide has a shell reflecting the shape of zinc oxide particles of the raw material. In the photocatalyst, the ratio of zinc and sulfur changes along the thickness of the layer. An electric field is generated along the layer thickness to reduce the recombination between a free electron and a free hole which are generated by being exposed to light and also the recombination between an oxidation product and a reduction product, creating the high activity of the catalyst.

摘要： A new sulphur-reducing bacterium denoted as KT7 is described. It is a low-GC Gram-positive bacterium related to the genus Desulfotomaculum, capable of reducing sulphite and sulphate to sulphide, having an optimum growth at a temperature between 48 and 70 DEG C, at a pH of between 5 and 9 and at a conductivity of the liquid medium between 0 and 40 mS/cm. It can be used in a process for removing sulphur compounds from water, wherein the sulphur-containing water is subjected to anaerobic treatment with the new sulphur-reducing bacteria, with the addition of an electron donor. The sulphur-containing water can be spent scrubbing liquid from a flue gas desulphurisation step.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet process of regenerative type for removing SO2 in combustion gas as elemental sulfur. SOLUTION: SO2 is absorbed by a diluted aq. soln. of BaS to form a mixed precipitate of elemental sulfur, BaSO3 and BaSO4 . Sulfur is extracted from the precipitate recovered by filtration by using a soln. of (NH4 )2 S. The obtained polysulfide is distilled to obtain pure elemental sulfur and the reusable soln. of (NH4 )2 S. The residual mixture of BaSO3 and BaSO4 remaining after sulfur extraction is reduced with coal in a high temp. furnace, in order to be reused as an aq. soln. in the SO2 absorption step.
