A bill with a short-inserted amount is promptly separated from the left holding part or the right holding part, and a bill with a long-inserted amount is left for a long time in the left holding part or the right holding part. The edge of the bill left in the left holding part or the right holding part is separated because the first holding part is shorter than the second holding part, and the bill moves to the storing part with no resistance and no transverse deviation relative to the bill conveying device because the bill can not be folded at a large angle.
