摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crushing hollow ball formed on a hollow ceramic core and to furnish its casting method. SOLUTION: A metallic hollow ball 10 is cast around a hollow ceramic core 12 not generating gas in the casting stage. The core 12 is held in the center in the cast ball 10 when cast with a ceramic solid supporting member 14. Since the core 12 is made of the inert refractory not generating gas when a liq. metal is poured into a die and solidified to cast the ball main body, either an opening or a hole is not provided in the supporting member 14.

SOLUTION: A feed mechanism is formed as the propeller stirrer 26 positioned under a lower end surface 21 and a propeller stirrer 27 positioned above an upper end surface 20. A suspension is subjected to the effect of the feed action of the propeller stirrers 26, 27 to flow in an insertion member 11 through the lower end surface 12 to flow through a grinding floor and, at this time, the suspension is subjected to the grinding action of grinding balls 25 always mutually tumbled on the basis of rotary motion. At this time, since the propeller stirrer 26 is fitted just above a bottom part 2, turblent flow and negative pressure are generated to prevent the sedimentation of a solid within the bottom range of a reaction container 1. By this constitution, the suspension can be effectively ground in both of positive and negative pressure operations.

By this method, the cracking of the ball is prevented and the mill can be continuously operated for a long period of time.
