    • PURPOSE: To provide an oxygen generator capable of surely performing the thermal decomposition of a whole candle and also lowering the temperature of a housing by supplying oxygen generated by the thermal decomposition of an oxygen generating material induced by an ignition to the outside through a gap between a cylindrical body and a heat insulating material, and through the heat insulating material. CONSTITUTION: Since a ring-shaped airtight space 39 is formed between a cylindrical body 37 and a housing 40 in this oxygen generator, and a candle 32 is covered by a copper cylindrical body 37 which functions also as a heat insulating material, the quantity of heat conveyed to the housing 40 is extremely small. Therefore, the whole candle is heated uniformly by widely lowering the temperature of the housing 40, reducing the heat transmitted from the candle 32 to the space 39 as small as possible by means of the cylindrical body 37, and further effectively supplying the heat to the whole part of the candle 32 inside. Thus, from right hand side, the candle 32 generates oxygen by performing the thermal decomposition successively without an interruption in its halfway and the whole candle 32 is thermally decomposed to convert NaClO3 into NaCl. In this way, the prescribed amount of oxygen flow can be supplied to the outside following a prescribed pattern.
