摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a plurality of sonar images corresponding to applications, such as search for a group of remote fishes and tracking of a group of nearby fishes, on one screen.
SOLUTION: A set is designated by a range depression angle set designating apparatus 3, and is operated in the detection range of the set and the depression angle of the transmission/reception beams. A switching signal corresponding to a set designated by one range depression angle set designating apparatus 3 is sent to a first switcher 4-1, a second switcher 4-2, and a third switcher 4-3. Switching is made so that a reception image signal can be inputted to each signal processing circuit and a reception image memory corresponding to a designated set in a signal processing section 1 and a reception image memory 2 for storing the reception image signal in operation at each set in each reception image memory. Then, an image at a region to be observed is read from each reception image memory and is lined up and written into a display image memory 5 by a read/write designating section 6 for displaying on a display 7.

摘要： A method and apparatus are disclosed for detecting moving objects silhouetted against background clutter. A correlation subsystem 12 is used to register the background of a current image frame (framestore 1) with an image frame taken two time periods earlier (framestore 3). A first difference image is generated by subtracting the registered images, with the first difference image being filtered by low pass filter 34 and thresholded by a three level segmenter 36. A second difference image is likewise generated between the current image frame and another image frame taken at a different subsequent time period. This second difference image is likewise filtered and thresholded. The two difference images are logically ANDed together by gate 39 whose output is connected to a formatter, sorter and feature extractor 40. Track files are generated in CPU 16 for comparing subsequently extracted image features with previously stored extracted features.
