    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress giving incompatible feeling that traveling speed is not kept at target speed to an occupant immediately after switching on a set switch, in a cruise control device. SOLUTION: The traveling control device of a vehicle includes a vehicle speed sensor 6 detecting the traveling speed of the vehicle; a target speed setting portion 15a setting the traveling speed at switching-on operation detected by the vehicle speed sensor 6 as the target speed of the vehicle when the set switch 3d is switched on during traveling of the vehicle; and an acceleration/deceleration controlling portion 15b accelerating/decelerating the vehicle so as to keep the traveling speed detected by the vehicle speed sensor 6 at the target speed. The traveling control device of the vehicle is also provided with a speed meter 11 indicating the traveling speed of the vehicle, and a speed display controlling portion 17a controlling the speed meter 11. Until predetermined time includes passed since the set switch 3d is switched on, the target speed is indicated as the traveling speed of the vehicle in the speed meter 11.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed detector, in an eddy current-type measuring instrument, which is good in terms of quality and in which the assembling operability of the measuring instrument is good. SOLUTION: A plate 9 is constructed and installed at the opening end of a measuring-instrument frame 3. A shaft 5 is borne and supported, via a bearing member 4, by the bottom wall of the measuring-instrument frame 3. A magnet 6 is fixed and bonded to the upper end of the shaft 5. An induction plate 13 which is turned due to an eddy current action generated by the rotation of the magnet 6 is arranged and installed via a small gap to the magnet 6. A spindle shaft 12 is fixed and bonded to the center of the induction plate 13. A pointer 14 which indicates the display part of a display plate 17 is fixed to the upper end of the pointer shaft 12. A reed switch 18 arranged and installed so as to face the magnet 6. An electrical insulating mounting member 19 to which the reed switch 18 is attached is arranged and installed in a direction at right angles to the sidewall 1 of the measuring-instrument frame 3. A mounting part 21 protrudes from both ends of the mounting member 19. The mounting part 21 is tightened by screws 23 so as to be fixed to both sidewalls of the measuring- instrument frame 3.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate delay in the informing timing, and inform the fact in the proper timing by judging an acceleration condition where travel speed reaches informing speed and approach to the informing speed, and outputting an informing signal almost simultaneously when the travel speed reaches the informing speed. CONSTITUTION:Automobile travel speed detected by a vehicle speed sensor 1 is outputted as pulse signals having a frequency in proportion to these, and is inputted to an operation part 2 after waveform shaping. The operation part 2 counts the inputted pulse signals in a prescribed gate period, or measures an inputted pulse signal period by a reference clock signal, and calculates travel speed periodically, and outputs acceleration to a control part 3 by carrying out operation. The control part 3 finds out how many seconds later preset information speed is attained if an increase in present acceleration is continued at present speed according to travel speed data and acceleration data from the operation part 2, and judges to inform the fact when this is the preset time, and outputs an informing signal to a voice synthesizing part 5.
