    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a free piston type generator capable of adjusting a motion period of a piston or a compression ratio in combustion while keeping system efficiency (engine heat efficiency×power generation efficiency) at a sufficiently preferable value.SOLUTION: The free piston type generator 10 for generating electricity accompanied by the linear reciprocating motion of the piston 20 is provided with a combustion chamber 26 and a spring 28 at both sides sandwiching the piston 20, and includes: an engine unit 16 in which the piston 20 reciprocates at combustion pressure when the fuel is combusted in the combustion chamber 26, and a restoring force of the spring compressed by the piston 20; a power generation unit 14 for generating electricity accompanied by the reciprocation of the piston 20; and a control means 50 for controlling the drive of the engine unit 16 and the power generation unit 14. The control means adjusts the motion frequency of the piston 20 or the compression ratio in combustion by adjusting balance between the fuel jetting volume for jetting to the combustion chamber and the power generation load, the reaction force of the spring part 28, and an intake air volume into the combustion chamber 26.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a free-piston type waste energy regenerating device having a simple structure, effectively utilizing energy by utilizing waste steam of a waste heat boiler.
      SOLUTION: The waste energy regenerating device includes a power generation means, provided with magnets 43a, 43b attached to an end part of a piston rod 42 extending to outside of the cylinder 2 and power generation coils 44a, 44b near a moving route of the magnets 43a, 43b when the piston rod 42 moves to and from the cylinder 2, for generating electric energy based on movement of the magnets 43a, 43b for the power generation coils 44a, 44b. The waste energy regenerating device includes an air supply and discharge mechanism 6 for supplying the waste steam to the cylinder 2 and discharging decompressed steam from the cylinder 2 which includes a valve switch control means 8 for controlling valve switching so that the waste steam is supplied to a first chamber 2a and a second chamber 2b in the cylinder 2 alternately.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop a combustion piston and a pumping piston at such a position as to provide the combustion piston with a proper top dead center position.
      SOLUTION: The device comprises at least one duel piston assembly. When the pumping pistons 15 and 16 move from a bottom dead center to a top dead center, fluid is sucked at low pressure through a low pressure fluid suction valve into a fluid pressure cylinder 12. When the pumping pistons move from the top dead center to the bottom dead center, fluid is discharged at high pressure that is higher than the low pressure. A position indicator on the duel piston assembly is read, and a position signal is generated. Based on the position signal, an electronic control unit determines a stop position of the duel piston assembly with which a target compression ratio is provided. The electronic control unit generates an instruction signal for closing the low pressure fluid suction valve at a constant stroke so as to stop the duel piston assembly at the instructed stop position. The target compression ratio is thus achieved by extracting force of fluid pressure.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a fuel to a combustion chamber while adjusting the concentration thereof appropriately, and to surely prevent an impact piston from falling by supercharging pressure.
      SOLUTION: In this gas combustion type driving tool, a movable sleeve 10 provided in the upper part of an impact cylinder 5 is moved vertically to be contacted with/separated from a cylinder head 8, thereby opening/closing the combustion chamber 9. Mixed gas in the combustion chamber 9 is ignited and burnt explosively, and this high gas pressure is made to act on the impact piston 6 to be driven impulsively, and then, a fastener is driven out from a nose part 4 provided in the lower part of the tool body by a driver 7 combined on the lower face side of the impact piston 6. The tool is provided with a partition section 16 forming a partition between the impact cylinder 5 and the combustion chamber 9, and a valve mechanism opening/closing the partition section 16. The valve mechanism is opened and actuated in driving the impact piston 6 and in return movement after driving the fastener.
