    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic fiber structure that is excellent in shape retention even though it consists of fine fibers and is bulky.SOLUTION: The inorganic fiber structure consists of inorganic fibers having an average fiber diameter of 3 μm or less, has a porosity of 90% or more, and is partially fused. The inorganic fiber structure can be used as a culture carrier. The method for producing the inorganic fiber structure includes the steps of: (1) spinning an inorganic fiber by an electrostatic spinning method using an inorganic sol solution for spinning including a compound comprising mainly an inorganic component; (2) irradiating the inorganic fiber with an ion having polarity opposite to that of the inorganic fiber and accumulating the inorganic fiber to form an inorganic fiber aggregate; and (3) partially fusing the inorganic fiber aggregate.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a low density and light weight heat insulation material having a high constructible property and heat insulating property, and a good repulsive force against compression and vibration durability.
      SOLUTION: This device for producing the low density laminated heat insulation material is to produce a low density laminated heat insulation material 7 by laminating a fibrous sheet 1 constituted mainly by carbonaceous fibers in multiple layers while spraying a binder on both surfaces of the fibrous sheet and folding the fibrous sheet 1 in lateral direction. The production device is constituted by a swing mechanism for supplying the fibrous sheet 1 spun from a carding means on a loading stand capable of lifting up and down or a conveyer 6 capable of advancing, and a spraying mechanism for applying the binder on the fibrous sheet. The swing mechanism can swing in the thickness direction of the fibrous sheet 1, and the spraying mechanism is mounted at the lower part of the swing mechanism and can move back and forth in the width direction of the fibrous sheet.
