    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a ceramic fiber-reinforced metal in which a ceramic fiber is dispersed into the base of a metal or an alloy, and which is used for a tool material for working and a turbine for a boiler in a heat field.
      SOLUTION: When the powder of a metal or an alloy is mixed with a ceramic fiber, as the ceramic fiber, the one in which a fiber surface is coated with the above metal or alloy is used, thus a structure where the aggregation of the fiber is prevented, the dispersibility of the fiber is satisfactory even after sintering, and voids are not generated is obtained. The coating method is desirably performed in such a manner that 5 to 50 mass% metal powder is beforehand added to the fiber, and mechanical mixing and stirring are performed, so as to coat the fiber surface with the metal powder.
