    • PURPOSE:To dispense with an iron shell reinforcement at the connect part in the base part of a connecting tube by specifying the ratio of the tube diameter of the connecting tube to the dome diameter of a regenerator and the ratio of the tube diameter of the connecting tube to the dome diameter of a combustion chamber, respectively. CONSTITUTION:The side wall of the dome 10 in the regenerator 1 and the side wall of the dome 11 in the combustion chamber 2 are directly connected with the connecting tube 4 without using a flexible joint to form an outer combustion type hot stove 12. In this hot stove 12, the ratio RD/TD of the tube diameter RD of the connecting tube 4 to the diameter TD of the regenerator 1 is specified to 0.24-0.60. Further, the ratio RD/ND of the tube diameter RD of the connecting tube 4 to the dome diameter ND of the combustion chamber 2 is specified to 0.44-0.60. By this method, the locally generated stresses at the base parts A, B of the connecting tube are suppressed and the iron shell reinforcements in the base parts A, B of the connecting tube are made unnecessary.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent generation of cracking, etc. owing to differences in thermal displacements by connecting both connecting pipes of a regenerator and a combustion chamber tentatively by means of a flexible joint while they are cold, and, after heating, by replacing this with a backing plate of high regidity and connecting these pipes with this. CONSTITUTION:Connecting pipes 3, 4 of a regenerator and a combustion chambers are disposed in such a way that they stagger by prescribed height. These pipes are connected tentatively by means of a steel plate bellows 5, and brick mansonry is applied in the respective parts of the hot stove. Then, these are dried and heated and the water condensed in the bellows 5 parts is removed through cocks 6. When the heating ends, the pipes 3, 4 and ceramic walls 14 align flush. The bellows 5 is removed, and the pipes 3, 4 are regularly connected by means of a thick backing strip 13 made of steel. Thereby, the concentration of stresses in the connected part is obviated as far as the regenerator and the combustion chamber do not receive cooling, and there is no possibility of stress breakage in the constituting parts of the hot stove.
