    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing an organic peroxide reducing the amount of alkali effluent and of suppressing the alkali decomposition of the intended peroxide upon neutralizing and removing byproduct organic acids in oxidized oil.
      SOLUTION: The method for producing an organic peroxide comprises processes as described below, wherein the concentration of sodium carbonate in an aqueous alkali solution to be supplied to its organic-acid neutralization process is 0.1 to 20 weight%, and the concentration of sodium hydroxide therein is 0.1 to 10 weight%. The oxidation process is a process of oxidizing an organic material by an oxygen-containing gas to obtain oxidized oil comprising an organic peroxide and byproduct organic acids. The organic-acid neutralization process is a process of causing the aqueous alkali solution into contact with the oxidized oil obtained in the oxidation process, to obtain oxidized oil removed of the byproduct organic acids having been contained in the oxidized oil by the neutralization thereof.
