    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering sodium tetraphenylborate easily in a purifying method to remove impurities of potassium by sodium tetraphenylborate.SOLUTION: The method for recovering sodium tetraphenylborate includes the steps of: (1) adding sodium tetraphenylborate to aqueous solution of a sodium compound and, under an alkaline condition, precipitating residue containing potassium tetraphenylborate and unreacted sodium tetraphenylborate; (2) separating the residue; and (3) bringing the separated residue into contact with water for recovering unreacted sodium tetraphenylborate.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the purity of an alkali metal hydroxide by adding an aqueous H2O2 solution and a rare earth element inorganic acid salt to the alkali metal hydroxide especially containing alkaline earth metals and iron as impurities, cooling the mixture and subsequently filtering off the produced co- precipitates. CONSTITUTION:1l of the 0.5-5N aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide such as NaOH containing alkaline earth metals such as Ba, Ca, Mg and Sr and iron as impurities is dropwisely mixed with 0.1-5ml of an aqueous H2O2 solution having a concentration of 30% and further mixed with a concentrated solution containing 1-1000mg/ml of the inorganic acid salt such as chloride or nitrate of the rare earth element such as Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Tb or Lu, followed by allowing the solution to stand for a specified time at -10 to 10 deg.C to produce the amorphous hydroxide of the rare earth metal element and further co-precipitate the amorphous hydroxide while adsorbing the impurities. The aqueous solution is filtered to remove the impurities, thereby providing a highly pure alkali metal hydroxide aqueous solution.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain finely grained zeolite as well as produce a low moisture content sludge, by the procedure in which a specific amount of a silicate is added to the waste water of the sulfuric acid-anodizing treatment for Al(alloy) surface to neutralize part of H2SO4, and then a NaOH solution, etc., and an organic high-molecular flocculant are added to the waste watwer so treated under a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:The waste water from the sulfuric acid-anodizing treatment for Al(alloy) surface is mixed with a silicate, e.g., sodium silicate, etc., in an amount enough to obtain a Si/Al molal ratio of 0.5-1 in order to neutralize part of H2SO4. Then, the waste water so treated is neutralized with a NaOH solution or Al-containing NaOH waste solution and then mixed with an anionic organic high-molecular flocculant for the flocculation and separation of sludge. Then the sludge so separated is mixed with said alkali solution in an amount enough to obtain a H2O/Na2O molal ratio of 25-100 and a SiO2/Al2O3 molal ratio of 0.5-25, and the solution is further heated at 45 deg.C or more for the crystallization and separation of zeolite. Thus, the aluminum sludge can be treated by using flocculant in a very small amount, approx. 1/10-1/5 of the amount used in the conventional methods, and also NaOH solution deprived of zeolite contains little Si. The zeolite contains Na2SO4 and therefore can be used as a builder for detergents.
