    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire body feeding apparatus which is reduced in the size and weight, and a method therefor.SOLUTION: A feed motor 7 rotatively drives a bobbin 5 to feed a wire body 3 from the bobbin 5. A wire traversing mechanism 13 includes a ball screw 15, a ball screw driving motor 17 for rotatively driving the ball screw 15 in both normal and reverse directions, a slider 21 which makes a sliding motion in a horizontal direction by the ball screw 15, and a carrier 23. Guide pulleys 33 and 35 are journaled on the carrier 23 which is connected to the slider 21, and the carrier 23 is provided with a position detector 25. A direction of the wire body 3 fed from the bobbin 5 is converted to a direction parallel to the axial direction of the bobbin by the guide pulleys 33 and 35. The position detector 25 detects a position of the wire body 3 in the axial direction of the bobbin, and a control device 47 drives the ball screw driving motor 17 according to a detection signal of the position detector 25 and drives the feed motor 7 so that a dancer pulley 39 can be located in a target position.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To draw out smoothly a linear body into water without applying excessive tension thereto, by storing a reel wound with the linear body in a storage part filled with liquid and drawing out the linear body while generating in the storage part a liquid flow rotated in the unwinding direction of the linear body. SOLUTION: After a reel 2 is stored in a storage part S, a cover part 13 is completely closed and water is filled into the storage part S. Before a linear body F is drawn out, under a condition that the drawing out side of the linear body F is fixed, a stream in a direction of unwinding the linear body F is generated in the storage part S. For generating the stream, a pump 3 is driven and water taken from sea is ejected from an inflow pipe 12 to the storage part S. When the stream in the storage part S becomes a predetermined flow speed, the drawing out of the linear body F is started. Water flowing from the inflow pipe 12 into the storage part S is discharged from an opening part 11 to the outside accompanied by the drawing of the linear body F.
