    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recorder for recording an image on a plurality of kinds of recording medium in which alignment operation is performed surely without damaging a recording medium by simple operation regardless of the kind of the recording medium.
      SOLUTION: A printer for recording an image on a recording sheet 100 including a bankbook 110, a cutform paper 120 and a broad cutform paper 130 is arranged to carry a recording sheet 100 toward an alignment plate 37 by a first carrying section 40 and to align its orientation. On the carrying path C, a bankbook side sensor 71 is provided at a position corresponding to the inserting position of the bankbook 110, a cutform paper side sensor 72 is provided at a position corresponding to the inserting position of the cutform paper 120, and carrying speed and amount of the first carrying section 40 during alignment operation are set based on the detection state of these bankbook side sensor 71 and cutform paper side sensor 72.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable quality of printing by preventing the quality of printing from being deteriorated even in the case of performing the printing of printing dots locally concentrating in the printing range or of the printing dots concentrating in a specific print hammer.
      SOLUTION: Relating to the print hammer for which the count number of the printing dots of each printing hammer has exceeded a prescribed value, the current value is changed to the direction such that the current product of the drive-current increases. The printing-dot number of the print hammer within one stroke is provided with two or more prescribed values and a pulse width of the drive-current corresponding to each prescribed value. Whenever the count number of the printing dots of each print hammer exceeds each prescribed value, it can be changed to the pulse width of the corresponding drive-current. The prescribed value is provided to the printing dot number for every print hammer within one stroke, and the value is provided individually for every N dot lines.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate noises of output signals in an inexpensive apparatus of a simple constitution by starting a timer when the output signal from a position detection apparatus changes, and taking only signals of a longer time than an operation time of the timer into a printing control circuit by a comparison means. SOLUTION: A dot printer prints while reciprocating a hammer bank 200 having a printing hammer. A position of the hammer bank 200 is detected by a position detection device (linear sensor) 280. A print position of dots is judged from an output signal of the device, whereby printing is controlled. In this case, a timer in a control apparatus is started when the output signal of the linear sensor 280 changes. A signal longer than an operation time of the timer is taken by a comparison means to a printing control circuit, while a signal shorter than the operation time of the timer is neglected. Accordingly, noises of output signals are eliminated. Preferably, the operation time of the timer can be set optionally.

    • PURPOSE: To improve print quality and eliminate displacement in dot positions by providing a means to correct a variation in the time required by print wires in reaching image areas after print voltage is applied, in a print head. CONSTITUTION: Variations in the time required by a print wire 12 in reaching an image area after print voltage is applied and forming dots include one due to the curvature of an image area 1. Therefore, a delay is set in the timing of impressing a print signal in accordance with a distance between each print wire 12 and the image area 1. Another means to correct a variation due to the curvature of the image area 1 is to increase the speed of print wires 12 going far away from the center to equalize the time required in reaching the image area. 1 As a means to change the speed of the print wire 12, for instance, the spring force of a return spring 19 may be changed to correct the print speed to an appropriate value. Print speeds can be changed also by changing the timing of applying voltage to a drive coil 9.
