    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method capable of obtaining a cushioning material 1 having a pattern composed of two or more regions of different color tinges such as a natural stone.
      SOLUTION: The cushioning material 1 having a matrix 2 and granular bodies 3 which are dispersed in the matrix 2. The matrix 2 is gray and the granular bodies 3 are black. A pattern akin to that of granite is formed by the granular bodies 3. In order to manufacture the cushioning material 1, a foaming agent and a first base polymer are kneaded to obtain a first polymer composition. Then, the first polymer composition is pulverized to obtain the granular bodies 3. Thereafter, the granular bodies 3, the foaming agent 3 and a second base polymer having a lower softening point than that of the first base polymer are kneaded to obtain a second polymer composition composed of the granular bodies 3 and the matrix 2 which are mutually different in the color tinge. Then, the second polymer composition is heated to foam the foaming agent in the granular bodies 3 and the foaming agent in the matrix 2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly improve kneading and homogenizing action by arranging a disc with a non-flat plane.
      SOLUTION: This kneading apparatus has a cylindrical rotor 1 performing rotation and lowering movement and a stator 2 being a female type cylindrical container fitting the rotor 1 as a basic constitution and a base material placed in the stator 2 being this cylindrical container is kneaded by compression and shearing action generated by lowering and rotation of the rotor 1. In this case, either one face of the stator 2 or the rotor 1 is made a non-flat plane constituted of horizontal faces a and inclined faces b divided radially from the center. It is possible thereby to greatly improve kneading and homogenizing action.
