    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a cage for a cylindrical roller bearing, for reducing manufacturing cost, by processing a recess part of a pocket of the cage for the cylindrical roller bearing in a short time with excellent productivity.SOLUTION: In this cage for the cylindrical roller bearing, a shape of a cross section vertical to the cage axial direction of a side surface 6 of a column part 3 facing to the pocket, is a circular arc shape, the recess part is arranged in the four corners of the respective pockets, and a cross-sectional shape of an inner surface of the recess part, is a circular arc shape along the side surface 6 of the column part 3. This manufacturing method is applied to manufacture of the cage for the cylindrical roller bearing, and includes the following processes. In the first process, a cage partially fabricated item 1A having a pocket opening 43 unprovided with the recess parts of the four corners in the pockets is manufactured. In the second process, circular arc broaches 11 and 12 of juxtaposing a plurality of cutting edges 13 in a circular arc shape, are rotated with the circular arc centers Q1 and Q2 of a row of the cutting edges 13 as the rotational center, and the recess parts are processed in the four corners of the pocket opening 43 of the cage partially fabricated item 1A.
