    • PURPOSE:To obtain an actuator which can obtain a large displacement with a low voltage by aligning a plurality of piezoelectric elements formed in a bimorph type, and selectively applying a voltage. CONSTITUTION:Sliders 6a, 6b of a one-dimensional actuator are interposed between guide plates 8 to be movable along guide grooves formed on the plates. Piezoelectric elements 9a, 9b formed in a bimorph type secured at both ends are respectively mounted on the upper surfaces of the sliders 6a, 6b. When a voltage is applied to the bimorph 9a, it becomes convex state at the element side, the bimorph 9a becomes contacted with the plate 8, and both become fixed state. When a voltage is applied to the bimorph 9b, it similarly becomes fixed state. Further, the bimorphs 7a, 7b are interposed between the sliders, a voltage is applied to the bimorphs 7a, 7b to alternately move laterally the sliders 6a, 6b.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a displacement generator which can displace a laminated piezoelectric element increased in the displacement by providing the laminated piezoelectric element, a pair of retainers secured to both ends of the element and elastic members contacted at both ends with the pair of retainers. CONSTITUTION:A displacement generator has retainers 1, 2 mounted at both ends of a laminated piezoelectric element 4, and rubberlike elastic members 3 provided to enclose the element 4 to be compressed by the retainers 1, 2. Since the members 3 are engaged to be compressed by the retainers 1, 2 in the normal state, the outer peripheral surfaces of the members 3 are swelled larger than the diameter phi of the retainers 1, 2. If a voltage is applied to the element 4 to elongate it, the members 3 are returned to the not compressed state in response to the voltage, and the diameter of the members 3 decreases. Thus, the voltage of the element 4 is controlled to becomes any of the above states, thereby obtaining a large displacement of the diameter of the members 3.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the lifetime of a fine moving device by providing a piezoelectric element on the surface of a shaft oppositely to a piezoelectric element for holding the shaft in a bent fine moving device, and simultaneously controlling both, thereby increasing an interval between the shaft and the elements to reduce wear. CONSTITUTION:The first and second cylindrical piezoelectric elements 3', 4' which radially extend to hold a shaft 2' are provided on the outer periphery of the shaft. Further, the both elements 3', 4' are coupled to provide the third cylindrical piezoelectric element 1' which axially stretches and contracts. The fourth and fifth cylindrical piezoelements 10, 11 are mounted on the surface of the shaft 2', and opposed through an insulator to the elements 3', 4'. When the elements 3', 1', 4' are sequentially stretched to perform a bending operation, the elements 10, 11 are stretched and contracted synchronously with those of the elements 3', 4'.
