    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of piping and an accident accompanying the breakage by positively detecting an abnormal rise in refrigerant pressure and stopping operation of a compressor in a sealed electric compressor for a refrigerant.
      SOLUTION: A fuse element 6 disposed in series with a motor 1 and a power source 4 of the electric compressor melts down by a current sufficiently larger than the operation current of the motor, and a normally-off type pressure switch 7 is disposed to be electrically parallel to a main winding 3A of the motor 1. When the refrigerant pressure becomes abnormally high, the pressure switch 7 is activated to short-circuit the main winding 3A. The fuse element 6 melts down by this short-circuit and interrupts conduction of electricity. The operation of the electric compressor can thereby be positively stopped before the piping and a pressure container are damaged by the abnormal pressure.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overheat protection circuit which protects an electrical apparatus in which life of a temperature dependence switch and/or switching electric power have/has been improved with easy designing and an inexpensive method.SOLUTION: An overheat protection circuit 42 for protecting an electrical apparatus 46 has: a temperature dependence switch 10 having a switching mechanism 11, and an electric current transmission element 24 which is arranged in the switching mechanism 11 and has two receiving contacts 27 and 28 which are electrically connected with each other; and a semiconductor valve 41 in which the receiving contacts are connected to two fixed contacts 31 and 32 on the basis of temperature, which has two electric current terminals 47 and 48 and a control input 49 and can control for AC voltage. Each of the two electric current terminals 47 and 48 is connected to one of connection terminals 39 and 40, and the control input 49 is electrically connected to the receiving contacts 27 and 28 of an electric current transmission element 24 through the switching mechanism 11, when at least the temperature dependence switch 10 is closed.
