    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved binary color matching feedback control system and method for hiding an infrared marking.SOLUTION: The system includes: an inline spectrophotometer sensor for measuring mixture of two or more colors; and a color matching feedback control unit for adjusting the mixture of the two colors to make coincident how the mutual colors look. Colors to be customized can be selected from a smaller overall range of darker colors, and a sufficient difference of black toner (k toner) between the mixture of the two colors is maintained so that it is possible to provide a sufficient contrast for infrared detection. First matching is provided by integrating a color model which is similar to predicted mixture of colors, then the two colors are plotted before a hidden symbol is plotted, and the two colors are adjusted so as to be made much more coincident. A color difference between a colorant of the hidden symbol and a peripheral colorant is suppressed to the minimum, and the other toner quantity is adjusted such that it is difficult for an observer to find out the existence of the hidden symbol under standard conditions.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an image to obtain printed matter which, even when specifically no dedicated coloring material is used, can guarantee that the printed matter is original or can trace the source of the original.SOLUTION: A latent image is generated by using at least one of a first color component in which a first coloring material is used at the time of printing and a second color component in which a second coloring material different from the first coloring material with respect to light is used at the time of printing. A background image is generated as a background of the latent image by using either one of the first and the second color components which is not used when the latent image is generated. At this time, each of the latent and the background images are generated by using the respective color components in a manner that both of the images are printed in equal color.
