    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor the sensitivity of which is hardly changed even at a low temperature and low humidity and which can obtain excellent image properties even if used repeatedly, and to provide an image forming apparatus including the electrophotographic photoreceptor.
      SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes an intermediate layer between an electroconductive support and a photosensitive layer. The intermediate layer contains a metal oxide fine particle the surface of which is treated with at least an anhydrous silicon dioxide, and a binder resin. The binder resin includes a polyamide resin obtained by subjecting at least a piperazine compound and an aliphatic di- or tri-carboxylic acid compound, a lower alkyl ester thereof or a mixture of the aliphatic di- or tri-carboxylic acid compound with the lower alkyl ester thereof to a condensation reaction.
