    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston ring installation structure for preventing end gaps from being coincided to each other and reducing blow-by gas by a method in which the end gaps formed in a plurality of piston rings are rotated at different segments along a peripheral direction of the piston head.SOLUTION: This piston ring installation structure comprises a piston having ring grooves formed along a peripheral direction of a piston head and a guide groove formed at the outer peripheral surfaces of the ring grooves over a specified segment along its peripheral direction; and piston rings which are rotatably fitted to the ring grooves, an in which an end gap is arranged between both ends, a guide protrusion is formed at the inner peripheral surface and the guide protrusion is rotated in the segments of the guide grooves. When a plurality of piston rings are installed at the piston head, it is constituted such that a rotating segment of the end gap formed in a certain piston ring does not overlap on the rotating segment of the end gap formed in the remaining piston rings.

The rotation restricting part 4 includes a first contact portion provided 4a on the second member 2, a second contact portion provided on the sealing member 3, and an inclined surface 4c. The first contact portion 4a and the second contact portion 4b are brought into contact with each other on the inclined surface 4c, and the sealing member 3 is pressed to a stopper surface 5a of the axial displacement restricting part 5 by an effect of the inclined surface 4c, which restricts the axial displacement of the sealing member 3.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce frictional resistance between a cylinder by a method wherein a knock pin is provided at the bottom of groove of a piston ring and the ring is fitted closely into the groove so that the knock pin is located between two clicks projected from the inner peripheral surface of the piston ring. CONSTITUTION:The piston 10 is provided with a multitude of piston ring grooves having narrow widths of the grooves and the bottoms of respective piston ring grooves 110 are provided with the knock pins 111 so that the phases thereof are shifted mutually. The piston ring 20 is provided protrudingly with two clicks 22 at positions opposing to a slit 21 and the piston ring 20 is engaged so that the clicks 22 of the piston ring are located so as to pinch the knock pin 111. Self-lubricating materials are employed for the knock pin 111 as well as the clicks 22 of the piston ring as the materials therefor.
