    • PURPOSE:To improve the strength of a pulley base plate and provide a compact and light pulley itself by attaching fixedly a reinforcing ring to the inner periphery of large diameter cylinder end outside the pulley base plate to reduce load concentration due to belt tension produced in the connection between said cylinder end and an annular flange. CONSTITUTION:A pulley base plate 1 is formed of a steel sheet to have integrally an annular flange 2 extending radially, a large diameter outside cylindrical portion 3 extending axially from the outer periphery of the flange 2 and a small diameter inside cylinder portion 4 extending axially from the inner peripheral edge of the flange 2. A reinforcing ring 7 comprises a cylindrical portion 8 extending axially and a collar 9 formed in the inner periphery of one end of the cylindrical portion 8 and extending radially inward. The cylindrical portion 8 is press fitted fixedly into the inner periphery of the end of the large diameter outside cylindrical portion 3 such that the collar 9 is located at the flange 2 side. Thus, even if a load is applied to the pulley base plate by belt tension, the load concentration in the connection between the large diameter outside cylindrical portion and the annular flange can be reduced to improve the strength and reduce the thickness of steel sheet itself so that a light and compact pulley can be provided.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of working V-groove portion by forming concave-convex portions on the inside diameter portion of the back of V-groove portion of the outer peripheral surface of a poly-V pulley. CONSTITUTION:A narrow cylinder member 51 formed by cutting a pipe is fitted round a core metal 50 and turned, and a plane roll 53 is strongly pressed to plastic deform the cylinder material 51 and form a poly-V pulley by rolling. At the flange portion on the outside of the V-groove, the diameter is restricted, and there is no change in diameter caused by rolling. At the central portion thereof, the diameter is increased by rolling, and concave-convex portions 7, 8 of the inside diameter portion of the back of the V-groove are produced. Therefore, rolling is restrained at the time of rolling to remarkably lessen an increase in diameter of the central portion, and the accuracy of an angle is improved. As the concave-convex portions 7, 8 are provided, unevenness of V-peaks due to lack of accuracy of the rolling portion increased in thickness of material can be absorbed in the concave-convex portions 7, 8.
