    • PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of damping force to less than a low damping force as a set reference by a method in which when the temperature of working oil for the shock absorber reaches more than a value, the setting condition of low damping forces is corrected to the setting condition of higher damping forces. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of working oil packed in a shock absorber is detected by an oil temperature sensor 31. When the oil temperature reaches more than a preset value, an oil temperature correction circuit 30 works to correct selected reference signal output corresponding to low damping force setting position S from a selected reference signal generation circuit 2 to a selected reference signal output corresponding to higher damping force setting position N. The signal output is put in a signal comparator circuit 3 to prevent the lowering of the damping force. Low damping force as a design reference can thus be maintained.

    • PURPOSE:To make a drop in damping force attending upon a temperature rise compensable, by constituting each leaf spring of a shock absorber's valve with a form memory alloy. CONSTITUTION:In case of such a shock absorber as being designed in the following method that a piston 3 is reciprocatably inserted into a cylinder 1 sealing oil inside, then the flow of the oil in the said cylinder 1 attending upon movements of this piston 3 is throttled down to some extent by a valve 23 composed of leaf springs 31 and 32 whereby damping force is made to be produced, the said leaf spring 32 is constituted of a form memory alloy.
