    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operational reliability of a sliding door lock mechanism in a sliding door device for vehicle in which one of two sliding doors is driven by an actuator while the other is linked with the one via a direction conversion mechanism.SOLUTION: In a sliding door device for vehicle, in which in a closed state of a sliding door a latch bar 24 is inserted into a lock hole 27 of a rack 11 to lock the sliding door in the closed state while in opening the sliding door a roller 26 is pushed up by a cam surface 19a of a slider 19 and the latch bar 24 is pulled out from the lock hole 27 to release the lock, an upper stage surface 19c of the cam surface 19a formed on the slider 19 is made into a slope downwardly inclined from the start end to the terminal of the upper stage surface 19c, and in an unlocked state the roller 26 is prevented from unexpectedly moving over the start end of the upper stage surface 19c due to vibration and the like applied to the slider and falling down, preventing locking of a lock mechanism 13 from becoming impossible by next sliding door close command.
