    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver with convenience by broadening the control range of a vehicle control, based on the calculation error of a vehicle current position.
      SOLUTION: A vehicle control system of the invention comprises: a route setting unit 302 for setting a route from a start to a destination; an information acquisition unit for acquiring from a memory means position information of base points and control points existing in the route set by the route setting unit 302; a base point recognition unit 324 for recognizing that the current position of a running vehicle has reached the position of the base point acquired by the information acquisition unit; a running situation monitoring unit 310 for calculating the running distance from the base point most lately recognized by a base point recognition unit 324 as a predetermined distance; and a control unit 308 for, when the current position of the running vehicle has reached the position of the control point acquired by the information acquisition unit, executing the advanced control of the running vehicle according as the predetermined distance calculated by the running situation monitoring unit 310 becomes shorter.
