    • PURPOSE:To obtain a film having a well-balanced strength in the longitudinal and lateral directions, by applying a frictional brake power to a tubular film with a braking unit formed at the mandrel to prevent the back flow of the pressurized gas to the die side. CONSTITUTION:The mandrel 11 comprises the warhead drawing part 15 having a gradually increasing diameter and the several circumferential grooves. A fluid at a controlled temperature is fed from the inlet pipe 17 to the interior of the mandrel 11 and discharged from the pipe 18 to control the temperature of the tubular film 3 which runs over the outside of the drawing part 15 from inside. The braking unit 14 not only applies the braking action on the film but also prevents the pressurized gas from flowing back to the ring die 2. According to the method, a film having improved longitudinal strength well-balanced with the lateral one free from scratches can be obtained.
