    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which is useful to improve the accuracy of cutting by a cutting machine. SOLUTION: The cutting machine has a tool body 101 equipped with a saw blade 113 for cutting a workpiece by being rotated and a base 111, which is connected to the tool body 101 and has an opening through which a part of the saw blade 113 protrudes downward, and cuts the workpiece by the saw blade 113 by installing the base 111 on the upper surface of the workpiece and moving with the tool body 101. The cutting machine also has a saw blade cutting direction indication member 121 which, in order to indicate the cutting direction of the saw blade 113, is installed on the tip side of the base 111 in the moving direction and whose mounting position to the base 111 is adjustable by moving in parallel with the direction crossing the cutting direction of the saw blade 113 or moving in the shape of a pivot.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable cutting machine that can inhibit the contact between a guide part of a guide and a rotary knife or a safety cover. SOLUTION: The portable cutting tool comprises, a motor, a rotary knife performing rotary drive by this motor; a cutting tool body having a saw cover with a shape covering a portion of the rotary knife, a base 4 connected with the cutting tool body and having a sliding surface sliding on the surface of a material to be cut, a pole 21 supported by a leg prepared in the base, and a guide having a guide part having a guiding surface intersecting almost perpendicularly with the sliding surface, and is provided with an interposition member capable of being interposed between the guide and the end section of the base side, wherein the distance between the rotary knife and the guiding surface can be adjusted by altering the mounting position of the guide to the base. The tool is further provided with a noncontact means for regulating an adjustable range of the guide to inhibit the contact between the guiding surface and the rotary knife when mounting the guide to the base in a condition that the interposition member is removed.
