    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for preparing low-sulfur reformate gas, having very low residual sulfur content to the extent of markedly reducing the toxic action of an anode catalyst and which is capable of conducting regeneration of reforming and catalyst moving in continuous operation.
      SOLUTION: This process contains a first process introducing hydrocarbon- containing sulfur and steam and preparing reformate; a second process for passing the reformate remained, after the first process through a sulfur absorber directly or after passing the second process; a process uofor reducing the carbon monoxide content of the reformate obtained in the second process, in which a reactant gas mixture contains steam/carbon ratio; and a process absorbing/ desorbing sulfur component to/from a catalyst, as required, by periodically raising temperature and passing the catalyst through the absorber, in which the temperature during processing is kept within optimum range for the absorber.
