    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball 2 having excellent flight performance.SOLUTION: The golf ball 2 includes a spherical core 4, an intermediate layer 6, and a cover 8. The core 4 is obtained by crosslinking rubber composition. Difference between hardness H(5.0) of a point at distance of 5 mm from a center point of the core 4 and hardness Ho of the center point is 6.0 or greater. Difference between hardness H(12.5) of a point at distance of 12.5 mm from the center point and the hardness H(5.0) is 4.0 or less. Difference between hardness Hs of the surface of the core 4 and the hardness H(12.5) is 10.0 or greater. Difference between the hardness Hs and the hardness Ho is 22.0 or greater. There is no zone in the core 4 where hardness is reduced from the center point toward the surface. The rubber composition of the core 4 contains 2-naphthalene thiol. The specific gravity SG2 of the intermediate layer 6 is greater than the specific gravity SG1 of the core 4. Shore D hardness H3 of the cover is greater than Shore D hardness H2 of the intermediate layer.
