    • PURPOSE:To surely heap up veneers having a predetermined length which are transferred by an impaling or absorbing conveyor, by controlling the intermittent drive of a separating conveyor which is arranged above a predetermined position on the first- mentioned conveyor, so that the veneers are separated from the latter. CONSTITUTION:A veneer A having a predetermined length is impaled and suspended, for transfer, from an impaling conveyor 1 which is formed such that a large number of impaling members such as, for example, needle-like members, are provided on a plurality of endless belts, and a separating conveyor 3 is disposed on the transfer path X-X of the conveyor 1, corresponding to a veneer heap-up area. The separating conveyor 3 has a plurality of separating members 10, 10a attached on endless belts 8, 8a at equal pitches having an effective length W for separation of the veneer, and is intermittently driven by an intermittent drive mechanism 9. Further a veneer detector 12 is disposed in the vicinity of the starting end of the separating path Y-Y of the separating conveyor 3, and when the detector 12 detects the trailing or leading end of the veneer A having a predetermined length, the intermittent drive mechanism 9 is driven so that the separating conveyor 3 is stopped for a predetermined time to separate the veneer A having a predetermined length.

    • PURPOSE:To release and drop a veneer without being damaged, by moving a separating member in the forward direction of a sticking type conveyor along the latter at a seed higher than the speed of the conveyor. CONSTITUTION:The terminal end of an introducing conveyor 3 is positioned in the vicinity of the front end of the hanging path X-X of a sticking type conveyor 1, and the travelling speed of the conveyor 3 is equal to that of the sticking type conveyor 1. The sticking of a veneer A which is transferred by the introducing conveyor 3, by the sticking type conveyor 1, is made by a pressing roller 4 disposed above the terminal end of the introducing conveyor 3, for pressing the rear surface of the endless belt of the sticking type conveyor 1, an operating mechanism 5 for advancing and retracting the pressing roller 4 and a detector 6 positioned above the introducing conveyor 3 upstream of the sticking type conveyor 1. There is arranged a separating conveyor provided with a separating member having an inclined separating surface and travelling in the same direction as the transferring direction of the conveyors 1, 3 at a speed higher than that of the latter while obliquely traversing the hanging path, so that the veneer A is released from the sticking conveyor 1.

    • PURPOSE:To improve processing efficiency of a veneer or the like, by arranging a vertical multi-stage storage conveyer between veneer cutting and drying processes and temporarily storing the veneer to adjust a speed difference between the both processes and check a mutual end face of the veneer. CONSTITUTION:Feed conveyers 1, 1a, 1b respectively consisting of a vertical pair of endless belts are vertically provided in multiple stages, and storage conveyers 11, 11a, 11b forming a conveying path of a veneer are successively provided to the rear position of each conveyer 1-1b. These storage conveyers 11-11b are also constituted by a vertical pair of endless belts further changeable from a free running condition to a drive running condition. Then a carry in conveyer 20 selectively conveying the veneer A carried by a carrying conveyer 22 is turnably arranged by an operating mechanism 27 in front of the conveyers 1-1b while a discharge conveyer 23 turned similarly by an operating mechanism 24 is arranged in the rear of the conveyers 11-11b.
