      SOLUTION: In an unhulled rice drying device 10, superheated steam S from a jetting section 24 is jetted to the unhulled rice from an upper side and a lower side in conveying a tray receiving the unhulled rice forward in a device body 12, to heat and dry the unhulled rice. Thus the brown rice after shelling processing of the dry unhulled rice, can be cooked soft to be easily eaten even by the ordinary rice cooker. Further as the dry unhulled rice is gelatinized in being dried by the superheated steam S, the gelatinized brown rice powder can be obtained by milling the brown rice after the shelling processing of the dry unhulled rice, and the utility value of the brown rice can be improved.

      SOLUTION: This culture medium 10 for raising the seedlings comprises a pulverized chaff group 12, a binder 14 and an element group 16 and is formed into a mat state by carrying out thermal compression forming. A temperature region for enabling the forming is extended by using two kinds of core-sheath type fibers having different melting point characteristics as the binder 14. Thereby, the sufficient bound state is obtained not only in the surface layer part but also in the inner layer part by the rough temperature control. The accumulation of the binder 14 in the field can be eliminated by using both the two kinds of biodegradable core-sheath type fibers.
