    • PURPOSE:To improve noise resistance and drift characteristic by displsing two sets of ultrasonic wave transmitters and receivers in a specific state. CONSTITUTION:Two sets of ultrasonic wave transmitters and receivers 21, 22 and 23, 24 are installed by leaving spacings (2N - 1)l/2(N: 1, 2, 3..., l: spacing between von Karman's vortex streets 12), and the propagation paths of the ultrasonic wave signals from the ultrasonic transmitters 21, 23 are made the same direction in the direction nearly orthogonal to the long axis direction of a veotex making bar 11. The output of an ultrasonic wave oscillation circuit 3 causes the ultrasonic wave transmitters 21, 23 to transmit the ultrasonic waves simultaneously. The ultrasonic waves are then received in the ultrasonic wave receivers 22, 24 and are inputted to a phase difference demodulating circuit 4. Then, the von Karman's vortex streets 12 assume the state wherein while the upper vortex street is passing in one of the two sets of the ultrasonic wave propagating paths the lower vortex street passes in the other owing to their regular releasing, thus the noise owing to the vibrations of the pipeline 10 itself and the vibrations by pump and the diift components, etc. owing to the temperature of the measuring body are offset by a phase difference demodulating circuit 4, and the accurate velocity-of-flow signal may be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a robust and highly accurate speedometer which does not have any moving parts by providing ultrasonic transmitting-receiving parts at an equal spacing in the moving direction integrally with a moving object and receiving the random noise included in the reflected waves from the ground during running. CONSTITUTION:The receiving signals having been transmitted and received by ultrasonic transmitters-receivers 31 thru 38, 31' thru 38' as a moving object 1 moves in the arrow direction have been modulated by the random noise owing to the undulations of the ground 2. The receiving signals from the receivers 31' thru 38' are applied to modulators 41 thru 48 to become modulated signals which are then sent out to an adder-subtractor 50, by which the output signal f0' is obtained and this becomes the signal wherein the specific frequency component (N+1/2)v/d has been intensified. Here, v denotes the speed of the moving object and N the receiving part serial numbers and if their spacing d is suitably selected, the signal f00=v/2d of N=0 may be intensified, thus the speed v may be known by measuring the frequency f00. The object 1 is installed to the body of an automobile and its speed may be known from the signal f0, thus the speed to the ground may be obtained at high accuracy and the robust speedometer obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the apparatus which does not receive the effect of vibration noise, etc. by using ultrasonic beams in the detection of noisy signal included in the fluid to be measured, emitting the beams intermittently and obtaining the signal through gate circuits which are held closed for a fixed time after the emission. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic wave transmitters 21, 22 are mounted by leaving a fixed distance L to a pipeline 1 in which the fluid to be measured flows and receivers 31, 32 are mounted so as to oppose to the respective transmitters. Driving signals are applied to the transmitters 21, 22 from an oscillator 4. The signals from the receivers are inputted to gate circuits 51, 52. From a timing circuit 5, timing signals are outputted to the oscillator 4 and gate circuits 51, 52 to control the oscillator as well as to control opening and closing of the gate circuits. Since the apparatus is so arranged that the ultrasonic beams are obtained through the gate circuits which are held closed for a fixed time after the emission, the measurement of the velocity and rate of flow may be accomplished without receiving the effect of the signal being transmitted directly through the pipe wall.

    • PURPOSE:To enable measurement of flow velocities to be performed without receiving the effect of the distribution of the velocities of flow in pipe by forming two or more pairs of ultrasonic wave propagation routes on the upstream and downstream sides and detecting the flow velocities in plural places in the pipe. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic wave transmitters 21, 23, 25 and receivers 31, 33, 35 in opposition respectively thereto are provided on the upstream side of pipeline and oscillators 22, 24, 26 and receivers 32, 34, 36 are provided spacially at a fixed distance on the downstream side, whereby propagation routes are respectively formed. When these oscillators are driven by an oscillator 4, the respective receivers detect the noise of fluid. Phase detectores 71 thru 73 are inputted with the signals from the receivers of the upstream side and the signals from the receivers on the downstream side and mdoulate the phase differences of both signals. The outputs Y1 thereof are inputted to a correlator 6 by a switch 8. In a circuit 9, the peaks are detected and are operated in a circuit 10, whereby the flow velocity V1 is obtained. Next, the switch 8 is changed over and the flow velocities V2, V3 for the outputs Y2, Y3 are obtained and these are operated 10 to obtain a mean flow velocity Vm.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain flow rate signals of high accuracy with a simple constitution by detecting the electromotive force induced by fluid noise contained in the fluid being measured through electrodes constituting a space filter and selecting the specific frequency components of the AC components to provide the flow rate signals. CONSTITUTION:With the opposing direction of the pairing electrodes 31, 32... provided to a pipeline 1 being set in the x direction, a plurality of these electrodes are disposed in the z direction at an equal spacing d. A signal adder 7 adds only the AC components occuring in the fluid noise from these electrodes 31... Since the pairing electrodes 31... are disposed in the z direction at the equal spacing d, the addition of the electromotive forces provide the signal f0' obtained through a space filter, which may be obtained as the signal having been selected of only the frequency components corresponding to N v/d(v: velocity of flow, N: 0,1,2...). The signal f0' is removed of non-signal components by a tracking band pass filter 8 and is outputted as the signal f0 (frequency f01) through a waveform forming circuit 9. The filter 8 is able to maintain the function of a band pass filter at all times despite fluctuations in the velocity of flow because its central frequency f01 is let to follow up the signal e0 corresponding to the signal f0.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the apparatus of the simple entire constitution by using ultrasonic beams in detecting the fluctuation components included in the fluid to be measured and using the piezoelectric elements provided with plural electrodes as receivers of the beams. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave transmitter 2 and a receiver 3 are opposedly disposed in a pipeline 1 in which the fluid to be measured flows, in such a manner that beams cross the flow. The receiver 2 comprises mounting a sheet of electrode 21 to a sheet of flat plate form piezoelectric element 20, from which band form ultrasonic beams are radiated. The receiver 3 comprises mounting electrodes 31, 32, 33... of a width d at an equal spacing L to a flat plate form piezoelectric element 20 and respectively alternately connecting the electrodes one after another. Output of an oscillating circuit 5 is connected to the transmitter 2. The signals from the odd number receivers and the signals from the even number receivers are inputted respectively to a phase difference demodulating circuit 6, by which the phase differences of both signals are demodulated. This enables the spacing L and width d of each electrode to be provided accurately and enables the constitution as the entire part to be simplified.
