    • PURPOSE:To enable smooth casting of a kind of steel having high high-temp. strength without trouble in a method for forming a lubricating layer contg. WS2 and MoS2 on the inside surface of a casting mold by forming a hard plasma melt sprayed layer in place of a plating layer of Ni, etc. to be preliminarily formed on the inside surface of the casting mold. CONSTITUTION:A plasma melt-sprayed layer 2 of carbide, oxide, etc. is formed only in the specific range on the outlet side of a casting mold 1 to prevent generation of scratch flaws. A lubricating layer 3 contg. WS2 or MoS2 for relieving the friction resistance with a cast billet is formed over the entire inside circumferential surface of the mold 1 including the layer 2.
