    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly mount a protector directly on a conductive pin of a glass sealed terminal of a hermetic motor-driven compressor. SOLUTION: In this protector for the hermetic motor-driven compressor 1, a thermal respondent switch 2 is stored and fixed to a holder 3, and a connecting terminal 4 with a receptacle 4A is mounted. The protector 1 is fixed to the sealed terminal by directly connecting the receptacle 4A to a tab terminal conductively fixed to the conductive pin of the glass sealed terminal. The protector is provided with a drop preventing member, and a locking part 6A of the drop preventing member is abutted on the tab terminal or the conductive pin to increase the force needed in the dropping direction of the protector. As the mounting strength of the protector to the sealed terminal can be remarkably improved, and the sufficient mounting strength can be obtained even when the thermal respondent switch is enlarged to increase the current capacity, the drop of the protector can be prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric compressor having an excellent efficiency of heat exchange between a protective device and a refrigerant. SOLUTION: This electric compressor 1 for refrigerant comprises a motor 3 and a compressor 4 disposed in a pressure vessel 2. The refrigerant is led from the outside directly into the compressor 4 through a suction pipe 5, released to the inside of the pressure vessel 2 after being compressed, and re-fed to the outside through a delivery pipe 6 after the heat exchange thereof with the motor 3. The protective device 11 is disposed at the end part of the delivery pipe 6 in the container so that the holder thereof can be used as a refrigerant passage. The protective device 11 is heated by an energizing current to the motor and exchanges a heat with the refrigerant to detect an over-current and an over-heating so as to open/close a contact mechanism. Since the refrigerant flowing to the delivery pipe surely flows through the protective device, the heat exchange can be improved and the protective device can be more efficiently cooled during normal operation.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a motor protective device which is used for a sealed motor compressor and has a function to detect an abnormal refrigerant pressure together with an over-current and an overheat. SOLUTION: A pressure-proof container is constituted of a container 2 and a cover plate 3 in the motor protective device 1. A stationary contact point 9 is adhered to one electroconductive terminal pin 8A insert-penetrating and fixed to the cover plate 3. A thermally-actuating plate 5 is connected with and fixed to the inner face of the container 2, and the movable contact point 6 is arranged open-close free with the stationary contact point 9. In the motor protective device 1, because a thermally-actuating plate fixing position 2A of the container 2 is flattened and deformed, the pressure between the contact points is adjusted, and the operated temperature is calibrated. A displacement part 2B which is made easier to deform by making the plate thickness thinner than that of its peripheral part is installed in the vicinity of the thermally- actuated plate fixing position. The operating temperature of the thermally- actuated plate can be reduced because the displacement part 2B of the container is deformed in the smashed direction if it is exposed to a high pressure state.
