    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration produced by a propeller shaft by preventing occurrence of self-exciting whirling vibration caused by internal friction of a universal joint. SOLUTION: A propeller shaft assembly 1 is composed of a first shaft P1 having an axial length L1 , a second shaft P2 having an axial length L2 which is smaller than the first axial length L1 , and a universal joint C3 coupling the first and second shafts together. When the first and second shafts are arranged so as to define a crossing angle thererbetween, depicting a leftward convex shape with an apex at the position of the universal joint. Accordingly, a folding angle at the universal joint C3 , in particular, an folding angle θ3 at the universal joint C3 at a third uniform speed can be increased with the use of a secondary moment which is produced by a drive torque T when the input force to the propeller shaft 1 becomes larger, and accordingly, self-exciting whirling vibration caused by internal friction of the universal joint is prevented. Thereby it is possible to reduce vibration and noise produced by the propeller shaft 1, in particular, vibration and noise in a running condition in which the input torque becomes larger.

The roll shaft of the device 1 lies between the supporting points S1, S2, and the resultant torque supporting surface passing the point S1 passes by the car leftmore than the point S2, while the resultant torque supporting surface passing the point S2 passes by the car leftmore than the point S3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power unit mount structure for a vehicle, suitable for forward-backward suppression of low-frequency wave generated at the vehicle.
      SOLUTION: As a power unit 1, an engine 2 and a transmission 3 are transversely mounted in a vehicular front portion, elastically supported on a vehicle body 7 by a pair of mounts 5, 6 disposed in vehicle forward-backward positions and are configured such that a front wheel 20 is driven by the torque generated by the power unit 1. The mount 5 on the vehicle forward side is provided with a direction change mechanism (16) which applies an energizing force for switching to a vehicle advance direction to the power unit 1 when the power unit 1 rolls around a crankshaft 4 to be switched relatively to the upper direction. On the other hand, the mount 6 on the vehicle backward side is provided with the direction change mechanism (16) which applies an energizing force for switching to a vehicle advance direction to the power unit 1 when the power unit 1 rolls around the crankshaft 4 to be switched relatively to the lower direction.
