    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing structure which can seismically strengthen the whole of an existing wooden house simply and easily without requiring large-scale construction, and a metal fitting which is used for the reinforcing structure.SOLUTION: A metal fitting 10 for mounting a plate 40 for reinforcement to an existing wooden building with a predetermined space from the exterior wall of the building comprises: a fixing part 11 which is mounted to a column or beam A of the wooden building; a bar-shaped separation part to which the fixing part 11 is fixed at one end thereof; and a plate-like support part 17 which is fixed to the other end of the separation part. A reinforcing structure for an existing wooden building is formed by fixing the metal fitting 10 to the column or beam A of the existing wooden building and mounting the plate 40 for reinforcement having a predetermined size through the metal fitting 10.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for joining a wood-based member and a steel plate together, which can inexpensively secure stable strength in a simple constitution, and to provide a composite material, and a joining method. SOLUTION: This joint structure 10 includes: a steel plate 11; the first wood-based member 12 which is arranged on the one surface 11A of the steel plate 11; the second wood-based member 13 which is arranged in a position to face the first wood-based member 12, with the steel plate 11 in between, on the other surface 11B of the steel plate 11; and a fastening member 15 which is inserted through the first and second wood-based members 12 and 13 in the plate-thickness direction X of the steel plate 11 so as to pressure-bond and fix them and the steel plate 11 together. The fastening member 15 includes a high-strength bolt 16, and a nut 17 which is fastened to the high-strength bolt 16.
