    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber-reinforcing fiber improved in adhesiveness to rubbers, particularly peel adhesion and rubber separation, not only at room temperature but also in high temperature atmospheres, and to provide a method for producing the same.
      SOLUTION: In the rubber-reinforcing fiber, a short fiber-containing adhesive treating agent is applied to the surface of the fiber; and the adhesion amount of the short fibers to the surface of the fiber is 1×10
      -4 to 0.2 wt.% per weight of the fiber. Further, the lengths of the short fibers are preferably 0.001 to 10 mm, and the specific surface areas of the short fibers are 0.1 to 20 m
      2 /g. The short fibers are preferably fibers selected from regenerated cellulose fibers, polyamide fibers, polyester fibers, acryl fibers, and polyvinyl alcohol fibers. The adhesive treating agent is preferably a resorcinol-formalin-latex base adhesive, and the fibers are preferably polyester fibers or polyamide fibers.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber-reinforced resin composition to be molded to a molded product hardly causing thermal and mechanical degradation during a process and excellent in rigidity and impact resistance.
      SOLUTION: This fiber-reinforced resin composition comprises a thermoplastic resin and a polyethylene naphthalate fiber and has a crystal volume obtained by an X-ray wide-angle diffraction of a fiber of 550 to 1,200 nm
      3 and a crystallinity of 30 to 60%. Further, it is preferred that the polyethylene naphthalate fiber has a melting point of 285 to 315°C; the largest peak diffraction angle of the X-ray wide-angle diffraction is 25.5 to 27.0°; the polyethylene naphthalate fiber has a dry-heat contraction percentage at 180°C of 0.5 and less than 4.0%; and the polyethylene naphthalate fiber has a peak temperature of tanδ of 150 to 170°C. In addition, the thermoplastic resin is preferably any one selected from the group consisting of polyolefins, polyacrylonitriles, polybutadienes, polyvinyl chlorides, polyacetals, polyesters, and polyamides.

      SOLUTION: The cord for reinforcing the rubbers, comprises synthetic fibers, wherein the synthetic fibers constituting the cord are aliphatic polyketone fibers and polyester fibers; and a pre-treating agent containing an epoxy compound and a resorcinol-formalin-latex-based adhesion treating agent are adhered to the surface of the cord. The pre-treating agent is preferably an agent containing an isocyanate compound or an agent containing a rubber latex, and the epoxy compound is preferably a sorbitol polyglycidyl ether. The polyester fibers are preferably polyethylene terephthalate fibers or polyethylene naphthalate fibers.

In addition, the inorganic filler is preferably carbon black or silica, and the synthetic fibers constituting the cord preferably contains polyester fibers or aromatic polyamide fibers. It is further preferable that the aromatic polyamide fibers are para-type aromatic copolyamide fibers.
