    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode lamp module with an external electrode structure which is easy to assemble with simple structure and which can be mass-produced.
      SOLUTION: The cold cathode lamp module is provided with substrates 33 and 34, at least one pair of electrodes 32, and at least one cold cathode lamp 31. The pair of electrodes 32 include a first electrode 321 and a second electrode 322, and the first electrode 321 and the second electrode 322 are provided asymmetrical to each other on substrates 33 and 34. The cold cathode lamps 31 are provided on the substrates 33 and 34. According to this cold cathode lamp module, yield of the product, reliability and service life of the product can be improved since a sealing process for a metal electrode in an interior electrode structure can be eliminated because the cold cathode lamp module with the external electrode structure is formed by providing the pair of electrodes on the substrates.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode lamp and an electrode for the same that achieves long life of which starting voltage and consumption of mercury vapor are reduced.
      SOLUTION: The electrode for the cold cathode lamp 20 has an electron emitting layer 20a, and a collision resistant layer 20b made of a material including ion collision resistent material, covering at least part of an external surface of the electron emitting layer 20a. The cold cathode lamp 10 is composed of a sealed housing 21, and a pair of electrodes 20 formed on both ends of the sealed housing 21, composed of the electron emitting layer 20a and the corrosion resistant layer 20b made of a material including ion collision resistent material, covering at least part of an external surface of the electron emitting layer 20a.
