SOLUTION: When an optical disk is mounted on a recording and reproducing device and is started, system CPU 17 reads the recorded contents of the optical disk and retrieves a cut image file and a recording start position file which are registered on the optical disk in a directory structure when they are recorded. Then, the CPU 17 displays the all cut image files registered on the optical disk as a user's selection menu in images on a monitor. After that, when a user selects a desired cut image by operating e.g. an arrow key or a numeric key, etc., of a key inputting part 41 and decides it with the operation of an enter key, etc., the CPU 17 reproduces a program that corresponds to the cut image selected by the user from a start position described on the recording start position file and finishes it.
