    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a display method which can show a driver an advancing direction to an instructed point even if the size of an irradiation region is limited.SOLUTION: A setting part sets the instructed point to be shown the driver. A determination part determines whether an indication image to show the instructed point can be displayed within a display region when a vehicle accesses the instructed point. A generation part generates the indication image moving toward the instructed point when it can be displayed. When the instructed point can not be displayed, the generation part generates an incidental image to make the drive recognize a position which may be indicated by the indication image outside the display region.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which is easy to view and use.SOLUTION: The display device includes a video projection unit, an optical unit and a mounting part. The video projection unit emits video light including a video. The optical unit includes a first optical layer, a second optical layer and an intermediate layer. The first optical layer has a first principal surface and a second principal surface opposite to the first principal surface. The second principal surface has a projection with a curved surface. The second optical layer has a third principal surface with a retreat part which faces the second principal surface and retreats along the projection and a fourth principal surface opposite to the third principal surface. The intermediate layer is arranged between the second and third principal surfaces. The intermediate layer reflects light heading for the second principal surface from the first principal surface, and transmits light heading for the third principal surface from the fourth principal surface. One of first and fourth principal surface is curved. The mounting part is connected to the video projection unit and the optical unit. The video light enters the optical unit from the principal surface and the reflected light enters the eyes of a viewer.

      SOLUTION: One block constituted of 64 pixels is divided into four regions in a first color axis direction, each of the pixels is divided into four regions and each region is divided in a second color axis direction. One block is divided into eight regions, 64 pixels are divided into eight regions, a representative color is set for each region, and a differential of representative value of the representative color for each region is calculated, thereby determining a quantization mode. Encoded data are produced on the basis of the quantization mode and the representative values. Thus, encoding processing is performed with high compression, without deteriorating image quality of an original image so much.

      SOLUTION: The image data modulation device includes a difference modulation part for input of digital image data and for output of a difference with respect to stored data as VDdata, a surplus reduction part for converting the VDdata into surplus reduced data compressed by 1 bit based on surplus function to output it, and a differential signal modulation part for converting the surplus reduced data into a serial signal to output it. The surplus reduction part converts one having a large appearance probability of the VDdata corresponding to one having a small transition amount of the surplus reduced data. The serial signal contains the surplus reduced data of one pixel arrayed in order from an upper bit side to a lower bit side or in order from the lower bit side to the upper bit side.
