    • PURPOSE:To prevent a cooling tower from being damaged by a method wherein a collecting means for collecting drain water dispersed from an upper surface of a bottom plate and guiding it downwardly is arranged near a bottom plate of a communicating barrel in a system in which barrel parts of at least two condensing devices are in communication with each other through a connecting barrel. CONSTITUTION:In a condensing device in which barrels of two condensing units communicate with and are connected to each other through a communicating barrel 20 having an opening above a pipe bundle of each of condensing units, steam Fa discharged from a turbine flowed into an upper part of the condensing unit is flowed downwardly, cooled while passing through a group of cooling pipes and condensed. In this case, a louver 22 acting as a collecting means for collecting drain water dispered from an upper surface of a bottom plate and feeding it downwardly is arranged near the bottom plate of the communicating barrel 20. This louver 22 is arranged over an entire region of the opening of the communicating barrel 20 and further welded and fixed to reinforcing ribs 23 of the barrel of the condensing units arranged along a wall surface 21 of a barrel part of the condensing unit. With such an arrangement, liquid droplets dispersed are prevented from being directly struck against the cooling pipe and damage of the cooling pipe is prevented.

    • PURPOSE: To remove the moisture of steam self-evaporated from a drain tank, by providing a balance duct communicated with the drain tank and opened to the sides of a left and a right separation elements on the bottom plate of a distribution chamber provided ldirectly above the drain tank provided to a main body barrel so as to be suspended downwardly from the bottom wall thereof.
CONSTITUTION: On the bottom plate of a steam distribution chamber 10 provided directly above the drain tank 13 provided to a main body barrel 1 so as to be suspended downwardly from the bottom wall thereof, a balance duct 17 communicated with the drain tank 13 and opened to the sides confronting to a left and a right separation elements 3 is provided. When the intenal pressure of the main body barrel 1 is abruptly lowered by the generation of an abnormal accident, the greater part of steam self-evaporated from the drain tank 13 is flowed into the balance duct 17 and subsequently passed through the separation elements while moisture therein is removed to be flowed out from a steam outlet 14. By this mechanism, the deterioration of functions of machineries in other systems is positively prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a condenser capable of preventing corrosion of a steam cooling pipe or the like, which is caused by condensate having high corrosiveness. SOLUTION: An enclosing apparatus 20 which encloses the central space of a steam cooling tube bank 4 comprises a pair of enclosures 28 of symmetrical location. The enclosure 28 consists of an upper portion enclosing plate 20A having an inclined face 21 which inclines downward from the inside to the outside, and a bottom portion enclosing plate 20B located below the upper enclosing plate. The outermost end of the plate 20B is positioned outside of the outermost end of the plate 20A. The lower end of the outermost end of the plate 20A is bonded to the plate 20B to define an inner space 23 and an outer space 24 of the plate 20A. The outermost portion and the innermost portion of the plate 20B are, respectively, set up with an outer weir 22 and an inner weir 6. Further, a communicating opening 8 is formed at the bonding position of the plate 20A and the plate 20B, and a drain opening 7 is formed at the bonding position of the plate 20B of the space 23 side and a tube bundle supporting plate 9.
